My name is Steve Herschbach and I created this website in
January of 2005. I am a life-long Alaskan and have been
involved in various mining related activities for over 35
years. I got my start when gold was $35 an ounce, and you
can rest assured it was not some thought of making money
at mining that got me started. It was simply the idea of
going out and finding some gold, and when I found my
first little specks of gold I was hooked for life. For
me, it was the fun, the adventure, the connection with
mining history, and the thrill of the hunt itself that
got me started on my quest for gold. That same thrill for
me extends to other minerals with potential value, like
platinum, diamonds or even meteorites.
